Redox Reactions

Redox Reactions

IN THIS EXPERIMENT YOU WILL…

Learn that Redox reactions are identified as electron transfer reactions. The fact that redox reactions can be identified by the change in charge in atoms as they change from reactants to products is explained and demonstrated.

Students will investigate the different types of displacement reactions namely, Metal displacementDisplacement reactions are chemical reactions in which a more reactive element displaces a less reactive element from its compound in this case a metal material is involved, Hydrogen displacement Displacement reaction is a chemical reaction in which a more reactive element displaces a less reactive element from its compound in this case hydrogen will be displaced in a reaction and Halogen displacement.Halogens undergo redox reactions with metal halides in solution, displacing less reactive halogens from their compounds
